when i get bored and can't think of anything else to draw, i draw head shots. whut.
even though it's boring, i still really like this picture. this is the way aleah looks in my head, and i was trying to sculpt her features so that'd remain unique from my other girls. i'm still trying to decide if i want her to look hispanic or like someone of indian descent. i like the idea of the latter, but i'll have to do more research.
i pulled out some stickers again and i had lots of fun with the makeup!
aleah is mine. created with copic markers, prismacolor markers, clinique and almay cosmetics, prismacolor pencils, gel pens, staedtler liners, prismacolor metallic paint pens, stamps, and stickers.
I like that Aleah has some flava in her, whether it's spicy or.. ... Spicier. XD She's got dimension.
Her hair is soooo beautiful. I love the way you do spiral curls, and your coloring is to die for, as usual. I always love the way you bring in some color that shouldn't necessarily work in the midst of all of the other colors, but manage to work it in in a way that is just utter perfection.
And her skin! It's so rich.. So many colors and beautiful areas of shading and highlights..! And I love the way you mixed the cosmetics in with the rest of the coloring. The blush really brought her cheeks to life. Those lips, too.. They really gave her a sense of rawness that is just gorgeous.
So pretty! <3

your headshots pwn. <3 very nice job on this! I love how you colored her skin. so many different colors and values... and the hair. OH MAN THE HAIR. all the purples and pinks and blues are gorgeous. <33 and using makeup in your art is genius. it really gives it a uniqueness that I've never seen in anyone else's art. also, her nose... I've always liked how you draw noses, for some reason. XD that and lips. you draw such pretty, luscious lips~!
Yeah when I find a lack of inspiration, I just draw heads. And it works. <3
I luvvs her hair. The wonderful purple and pink and stuff. ESPECIALLY THE INTENSE PINK. Because it really compliments the light pink background, and that just gives me some joyful feeling I can't describe. |D So I'll just leave you here.

Goodness, I meant to comment on this earlier when I first saw this. And didn't. I apologize, dude.
I'm very much digging the idea of Indian descent. DUDE, how friggin' original, srsly. And plus I very much like observing the differences in face structure from nationality to nationality.
Aleah's nose in this is banging. I love it when people go beyond the perfect shaped button noses. Then again, noses are my obsession that apparently will never die. But no, fo real, her profile is very elegantly shaped as well as beats the profile cliche -- and yes, I swear, there is a face shape cliche, damn you Barbie!
Can I also just say that that curl is nigh on God-like. And fantastic hoop detail.
Now Jen, there's nothing wrong with headshots :3 Especially when they are as hot as this one! The hair looks absolutely lovely, the blends of pinks and purples is really effective. I also love how her features are very chiselled and defined, and the toning of the skin is just perfect! Beautiful

In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
